Great tea pot in general, but not so much for small amounts of tea Jul 12, 2010 I drink a lot of tea and I like this tea pot very much (the net is good even for small teas like Japanese gyokuro) except that it is not the best if you are just making a little amount of tea. The problem is that the net is quite short so you need to fill the pot almost full for tea leaves to be covered in water, which is more what I usually need for myself alone. But if you need more tea than that, I can recommend this simple and elegant tea pot.

Excellent loose tea brewer Jun 21, 2010 I have become a fan of loose teas and thus need a good teapot to brew these to advantage. The teapot needs to be of good size (for 1 person) that can hold 2-3 cups of tea. This teapot fills the bill admirably. I keep the pot hot on a spare electric candle heater which fits the base perfectly and thus the tea stays hot for as long as needed. As I drink the tea, the liquid level falls below the strainer basket and the tea is not steeped - but it has been in contact long enough to create a good strong, fully extracted cup of tea. My wife knitted a tea cosy to avoid heat loss - an essential in my view.
I scored the pot 4 out of 5 as it arrived broken due to inadequate packing - the pot by the manufacturer and the cardboard box by Amazon - both were less than sufficient. Amazon sent a replacement in 2 days.
I get my tea supplies from Uptontea.com near Boston and they have a selection of 200+ loose teas - right down to individual estates in India, China and elsewhere. Teas come in individually sealed and personalized metalized bags.
With this choice of teas - I hardly ever drink coffee now, as I find it too strong and with lack of refinement and subtle differentiation that one can find between different Assams or other teas from diffferent regions.
japanese tea pot Jun 10, 2010 perfect size for my daily 12 oz cup, very nice design handle, spout and strainer, no dripping and it looks good too what more can one ask.
My busband loves his teapot May 28, 2010 He just loves it. Has not stop using it since it arrived. Great and easy to use, will recommend highly.
I can't even begin to say how much I love this teapot. May 24, 2010 It's perfect. It holds two full mugs of tea or a little more than 4 teacup-cups of tea and keeps the whole pot warm for a good couple hours. I've never had a problem with the top sliding off while pouring, either. Sometimes the spout dribbles a little, but only if the water level inside is very high. The included mesh basket is really nice as well for both loose teas and for suspending other "flavorings" in the tea like orange peel (my favorite). I can't speak highly enough about this perfect little pot!
